Okay. We admit that we've entered the Myspace age. We haven't quite entered the Facebook age yet, but maybe in 2008. It's hard enough to keep one page updated, let alone three. I hope to hell that there haven't been any dedicated fans checking this page in the past 13 months, but if there have, uh...sorry! Check us out on our Myspace page now.

Anyway, I'm doing a general update now because we're going on tour in January. We're going with an amazing singer/songwriter/performer who also happens to be my girlfriend. If you haven't heard of her yet, you will soon. Her name is Uni and her Ukelele. It's gonna be an awesome time. Check our shows page for details. Come see us if you can or at least tell your friends.

We haven't had a whole lot of luck trying to find someone to replace Dena. Which is to say no one can replace Dena, but we were hoping to have found another drummer by now. We're currently weighing some options. We have a great lockout space, but it's a little expensive for the three of us. We may try to focus on writing and recording new material for a while. At least then we'd have something new for you. Stay tuned...

Goodness, how time flies. What a spring...and summer...it has been. We know we don't update our news section that often but we hope that you still like us. We swear we're not those friends who only call you when they want something. But we have to admit that we've come to a pretty needy situation.

Many of you already know that we are losing our beloved Dena to the state of Texas. We're not going to go into the reasons she left, but it wasn't because of us. We think. At any rate, the Jank has been left without a drummer. Filling her stool will not be easy (hee hee, stool!), but we have confidence that someone great is out there. Is it you? What about that person behind you? Oh, that's your mom? Well, can she play drums?

Seriously though, if you love the Jank like you're supposed to, you'll let everyone know that we need a drummer. You wouldn't want us to have to go back to our jobs as steel workers and strippers would you? No, nobody wants that.

Okay, overdue update. We had a show on February 1st at Bottom of the Hill. It was good to get to play there, but overall we weren't too impressed with how they did business. The Jank ended up closing the show and as soon as we were done they started to close the bar. Granted it was a rainy Wednesday, and not as many people came out as we hoped, but they seemed in an awful hurry to shut it down. We also only got paid twelve bucks. We figure there musta been about $500 brought in through the front door, and if all things were equal for the bands, somehow that $500 translated to just $36 for the bands. How does that work? We think we got robbed.

This past Saturday night, the fourth, we played a show at Edinburgh Castle for our friend Tod's birthday party. That was fun. The pressure was off after the B.O.T.H. show, so we just got drunk and had fun. Eric Drew Feldman and Coleen Brown also played a couple great songs. And Poopy took off his pants at the end of the set. What more can you ask for except maybe to be blinded with a hot poker?

Hey, ...You! Check out some pictures from the show.

Last but not least, our EP is finally done. You can get one at any of our shows, or by writing to us at jankowitz@gmail.com. Of course you can also download all the songs for free on our media page (sans the kick-ass cover art).

We had a great show last night at House of Shields. Thanks to everyone who came out to share the mezzanine with us. Thanks to Pono for letting us open as well.

We finished mixing our three-song demo with the help of Nate from Take Root Studios. The shit is sounding tight. Next we've gotta master that bitch and then it'll be everywhere all over the place.

The Jank spent the early part of this week in the studio recording our three-song demo. Unfortunately, we ran a little short on time and were unable to get a good mix out of it. We're currently looking into some options to get this thing into your ear holes. Hopefully it won't be long.

The sessions went real well though and we're quite happy with the result. We were able to cram a pretty good amount of work into three short evenings and we're convinced it's because we're total bad asses. So check the media page soon for new music and pictures.

Looks like the Jank is back on for recording. Turns out the guy was in Europe. Ha! Crazy. He left earlier and came back later than planned. He totally spaced our recording slot and is willing to have do-overs. He also wanted to charge us way more than we originally agreed on. Looks like the Jank Image Factory will be doing some website work for him as a trade (yes, we are available).

In other news, the Jank has applied for a slot at next year's South By South West. Will we get in or won't we? The anticipation is killing me! Tune in next week to find out! I mean, um, tune in next year.

Looks like a minor setback for the Jank. After a couple months' anticipating our first recording session, the shit's been yanked from underneath us. We're not sure if it's just a case of poor communication or straight-up flakery, but our go-to guy for recording has proved to be entirely unreachable. We'll be considering our next steps in the coming weeks. We'll keep you all updated.

It was an awesome show at Amnesia last night. The turn-out was strong, the beer was cold, and the music was a tender morsel on the elbow of sunshine on my shoulders. We rolled out our usual rock regalia, but debuted a new cover song, namely Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful." Band reception to Poopy's cover choice had been luke-warm, but the faces of the audience told another story. The sight of fifty sing-along faces was truly inspirational.

The Jank will be in the studio this Monday and Tuesday for our very first recording session. Wish us luck. Do it now.

Shee-at! We had us a kick-ass show last night at the Cyclone. Sure there were some flubs, but for the most part we just relaxed and had fun. Collisionville and Butch Berry had great sets and it seemed like all three bands were a fine compliment to each other. But probably the best part of the night was the moms. Yes, the Jank had three-quarters of our moms in attendance and Jank moms know how to party, dammit.

In other news, the Jank will be going into the studio for two nights near the end of September. We hope to be able to record three songs in that time. This will be the very first studio experience for the Jank as a band and we're pretty excited. You can tell just by lookng at us. Expect to see some fresh mp3s in our media section by October.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our show last night at the Cherry Bar. We played a powerful but abridged set on account of there being so many bands on the roster. Truth is we'd really prefer you all to be at our show next Saturday at the Cyclone Warehouse. At that show we'll play a much more relaxed and fun set. Hopefully you can be there. Is that you by the pretzels? Pass me a few.
