After losing our last drummer, we took an involuntary 11 month hiatus. During that time, we autionined a few drummers but we were pretty disappointed with the process overall. We managed to fit in a few practices with a drum machine but we found that to be a pretty disappointing process as well. The only aspect of the Jank that still heald any allure for us was the heavy drinking.
In July, we met Tony Corten through a Craigslist ad we had posted. We had some drinks, shot the shit, and planned to meet in the studio a few days later. During the few days in between, Tony managed to give himself a MAJOR knee injury while playing tennis. This laid him out completely and made drumming impossible.
During his recovery we kept in touch. The Jank met another drummer or two but nothing gelled. Earlier this month Tony let us know that he was finally able to drum again. We brought him into the studio and knew pretty much right away that he was the one. We gave him one more practice just to be sure and then offered him the spot as the new Jank drummer. We are extremely excited to have him. He is a great drummer and an all-around great guy. We are currently getting our set list back into shape and we hope to rock your ass in person sopmetime very soon.
